Shandong Haineng Bioengineering Co., Ltd. was established in 2008. We are an integrated manufacturer combining research, production and technical promotion of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25-OH-D3), liquid vitamin raw materials, liquid feed additives and vitamin premixes.
The company is located in Rizhao, a coastal city in Shandong Province with direct access to port logistics. Over 18 years of development we have built three production bases in Rizhao and formed product lines serving animal nutrition and related application fields.
Our 25-OH-D3 technology is protected by a Chinese national invention patent, and we took part in drafting the national industry standard NY/T 4688-2025 for 25-hydroxycholecalciferol. We were the first company in China to obtain the feed-additive production licence for 25-OH-D3: the product standard was filed in March 2014 and the production line passed ministry acceptance in June 2014.
Our 25-OH-D3 is already registered in the United States, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Vietnam and Malaysia, among other markets, and is supplied to feed mills, premix plants and distributors worldwide. Every order is supported by a technical data sheet, a batch certificate of analysis and access to our application team.

Founder & General Manager
Mr. Cao Jindang
Founder & General Manager
Mr. Cao Jindang holds an MBA from the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Renmin University of China. He is a Standing Director of the China Animal Agriculture Association and of the Shandong Provincial Feed Industry Association.
In the 1990s he was engaged in veterinary drug R&D and production management, participating in the development of twenty new veterinary drugs included in the Shandong provincial veterinary drug quality standard, nearly ten of which were later upgraded to national standards.
Since 2008 he has focused on the research, production and promotion of liquid vitamin premixes, under the company mission “Everything for Healthy Farming”. Under his leadership the company developed nano-vitamin self-microemulsification low-energy technology, liquid vitamin premix technology, and the 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 production process — each filling a domestic gap in the field.
He has presided over four provincial science and technology projects and five municipal development programmes; four research projects have passed provincial achievement appraisal. He has received one First Prize of the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, three Second Prizes and one Third Prize of municipal science and technology awards, has filed five national invention patents and one utility model patent, and has published more than ten papers on vitamins. He has been honoured as an “Advanced Worker” of China’s animal husbandry industry.

2008
Company Established in Rizhao
Shandong Haineng Bioengineering Co., Ltd. was founded in Rizhao, Shandong on 5 May 2008. The feed additive and additive premix production line passed expert acceptance in June, and the Ministry of Agriculture issued the production licence in September of the same year.
2009
First National Invention Patents
Two national invention patents were granted for nano-vitamin self-microemulsion and microemulsion preparation technology (ZL200910018210.2 and ZL200910018211.7), and a technology cooperation agreement was signed with Qingdao Agricultural University.
2011
ISO 9001 Certification and New Liquid Line
The company passed ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification in December, and construction began on a 1,000 t/year liquid vitamin production line.
2014
Haineng 25-OH-D3 Standard Filed — a Domestic First
Our self-developed liquid 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D3) feed additive passed expert review and received national standard filing in March — the first of its kind developed in China; the production line passed Ministry of Agriculture acceptance in June 2014.
2015
Technology Assessment — Domestically Leading
Two research projects — liquid vitamin premix production technology and 25-OH-D3 production technology — were formally assessed in Jinan and rated "domestically leading". The Poultry Research Institute of the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences set up a doctoral workstation at Haineng.
2017
25-OH-D3 Production Line Commissioned
A 60 t/year 25-OH-D3 production line was commissioned in May, marking the start of domestic volume production. The company was recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise in December.
2019
Silver Award for 25-OH-D3
25-OH-D3 won the Silver Award for Technological Innovation Products at the 17th China Animal Husbandry Expo.
2020
Shandong Gazelle Enterprise
Listed as a Shandong Gazelle Enterprise, and recognised by the Shandong Feed Industry Association as a model enterprise for antibiotic-free feed products; passed the National High-Tech Enterprise re-assessment.
2021
Research Centre and CAU Collaboration
Our research and office building in Rizhao High-tech Zone topped out; a joint project with China Agricultural University on how 25-OH-D3 improves pig performance was assessed as "domestically leading and internationally advanced"; the technology centre was recognised as a Shandong Provincial Enterprise Technology Centre.
2022
New Pharmaceutical Facility
Shandong Haineng Pharmaceutical's softgel production building broke ground in June, extending our capabilities into adjacent nutrition products.
2025
National Industry Standard Drafter
Took part in drafting NY/T 4688-2025, the national industry standard for 25-hydroxycholecalciferol.
